	<description><![CDATA[<p>Weather Beacon is an oracle for the digital age. Merging Wi-Fi technology and industrial engineering, this kinetic sculpture receives data from the Internet and emits a code of flashing lights, forecasting the weather and inviting the public to connect to their physical and invisible surroundings. Presented by Arts World Financial Center. Part Victorian cabinet of curiosities, part roadside attraction, this art installation houses exhibits that echo themes of unlikely connections and contemplates the actual, illusory and anomalous nature of love. Ongoing summer highlights include the <em>No Longer Empty</em> exhibition, a multisensory journey to an alternate reality via Governors Island's history; the <em>FIGMENT</em> Interactive Sculpture Garden &amp; MiniGolf Course where visitors can explore fantastical interactive installations; and <em>Encounters</em>, and island-wide exhibition organized by the Sculptors Guild. And on Fridays, borrow a bike from Bike and Roll and see the island on two wheels.
